Vintage Valjoux 72 chrono, though somewhat more affordable than the Rolex equivalent

Still a super cool piece!
I have a softspot for 70s Autavias, got three of them. The cal 12 Siffert might be the most popular, but to me this manual three-register chrono with Siffert coloring is even cooler.

Wow, appears to be in beautiful condition...nice find! I like the case shape, very 70s but very cool !

we all do dumb ****. I once sold a watch and a month later it almost tripled in value. I lost about 20K on it.

Sounds like a PAM story... 195 ?

hot damn those are incredible.

Obviously they are not mine. IWC also made a version of the Mk XI, and then subsequently versions XII through XVII. The likelihood of finding one of those is much higher since they produced approximately 100x more of them.

Also, since we're talking about it (the mk XI), I just re-read William Gibson's "All Tomorrow's Parties" which has a whole slew of references to really cool watches. It's where I first learned about the MK XI, which plays centrally into the story. Very cool read for that aspect alone, and a stellar book overall.

Predicting the future does not always pay as well as one might think.

Thanks! The TH Monaco is very nice, I had one for a while. In the McQueen-colors it is one of the finest TAGs on offer today! The newest model is priced too high though, IMHO.

The new "Jack Heuer" Carrera is also fantastic :slayer:

Thanks all! The Speedy was a long time love of mine, way before I could afford one. Got the original with the Hesalite and could not be happier.
