1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Why not? Can a Chrono not be a dress watch?

Dress watches are usually simple affairs with a leather strap. However, lots of people (myself included) wear sports watches with suits.

However that watch is way too busy and, dare I say, gaudy to be worn as a dress watch IMHO.

Not if you are sticking with "the Rules." If you like it and think it looks good, then yes.

Did you see the corums on the last page? Compared to other waches in this thread such as corums, piguets, even rolexes; I don't find it that much more busy actually.

I'm just not a fan of leather straps because of their feel. I have nothing against the way they look.

Zenith makes excellent in house movements that rival those of Patek and VC in terms of performance, minus the unnecessary decoration. In terms of mechanical reliability, I'd rate Zenith way up there! 36,000 BPH. I love this movement. The only down side is the lack of the timer second hack feature...but a lot of high-grade chrono movements have similar designs, various Lemanias for example.
what do you think of this zenith defy aero? [IMG] [IMG] Is it a good buy for a dress/everyday watch? I'm loving the Brushed Solid 18K Rose Gold and don't like to wear leather bands personally.

I see you didn't read the disclaimer. [IMG]

Since we seem to be discussing "ugly oversized sport watches"... [IMG]

Holy Shit! No wonder Zenith doesn't get the respect they used to enjoy. Sorry I don't see this as one you could wear everyday, except maybe in a sitdown with Russian mobsters. And I don't care if it even has the best movement made, it just goes to show its not just the inside that matters.

I'm rather considering a vintage Rado Diastar. I'd wear it on a plain calf-strap instead of the metal bracelets they come on. I'm thinking Navy Blue though a grey ostrich might also look nice. No reptiles though. [IMG]

Yes, they're charmingly dated. I think Rado is one of the underrated brands though it seems rather prevalent in Asia.

It's worse than that IMO. But arguing the aesthetic qualities of a watch is pointless - it's a matter of taste.

That Zenith looks like one of those fake luxury watches with vaguely European-sounding names.

I'd like to get Sator's take on which one of these two watches would look best with black tie. [IMG]

True, but the other one is a Rolex and as we all know a Rolex is always acceptable with black tie. [IMG]

damn lol go figure my fav zenith on the site is hated on this forum lol. Well can people post some recommended watches without leather bands for me to see then? Excuse me if I sound crazy, but when I spend that much on a watch I would like it to stand out a bit.
