1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Just showing. the Rose Gold 2000 at 34mm is perfect for me. I would have thought this steel cased, white-dialed one, at 36mm, would be right up your alley.

The Pythagore, without the center seconds hand "complication" is also 34mm

The white one might work really well. It is beautifully proportioned.

Watch size is a weird thing. I had thought my sweet spot was 37-38mm, as I have a large wrist but don't much care for hubcap-style watches. However, I recently saw a vintage (quartz-powered) IWC chronograph that was the perfect fit at 36-- and much to my surprise found that the Breitling Transocean is nowhere near too large at 42mm.

This is nice. The style reminds me of vintage Seamasters.

Very nice. Such simplicity is rarely seen these days.

Can totally recommend Hughes. He's done about 10 straps and several leather goods large and small for me to date. I think he is the best leather artisan in Singapore and world-class.

I have never seen that one before, but I agree that it is quite nice. Details? Links? Is it an ultra-thin?

Gents, would like to hear your thoughts on the your favorite of the following 5 watches:

    - Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

    - Panerai 233

    - IWC Portuguese (5001-09, black dial)

    - IWC Big Pilot (5009, not 5002/5004)

    - AP Royal Oak (15400, black)

Putting aside considerations of price or versatility, which is the most beautiful? (Am leaning a couple ways, but interested in hearing views of SF)

    It changes weekly. This week...

    +1 on the 7day Portugese.

    Also:

    - JLC Deep Sea
    - Vintage Flieger
    - Patek Aquanaut
    - IWC Mark XV or 3717

Not bad, but a bit loud

    - IWC Big Pilot (5009, not 5002/5004)
would be great except for the idiotic power reserve dial on the front

    - AP Royal Oak (15400, black)
I like this, but I would prefer the dark blue dial on this.

I have no desire to be rude but I dislike all of them.

    1. I'm not much a fan of the BP FF, but if I did go that route, I'd be sure to get one with the wonderful little "no radiations" logo
    2. I dislike panerai
    3. The portuguese is the nicest one here
    4. I'd rather get a Stowa Flieger
    5. I've never liked the Royal Oak.

The only caveat here is that I have a smaller wrist (approx 7'), and so I think that's why I shy away from your choices here.

Regardless, happy choosing and let us know what you decide! [IMG]

I think you should take Cant Kill Da Rooster's advice re: JLC divers. You may like what you see!!
