    That 1815 rocks.

And I agree that the GO PanoMatic Lunar looks better.

With my admittedly more plebeian and utilitarian tastes I admit that I have not seen a Rolex or Panerai I have liked. However that IWC Big Pilot is [IMG]

    Sinn/Land Rover for tool-that-is-still-tool, Panerai/Hummer for tool-gone-fool

    /M

I have a Breitling (my graduation present) and a Panerai (got last week) and I have a Red Defender 90 and my parents both driver Range Rovers (defender is not my daily driver) so I must be a tool [IMG] ...btw my pics are coming...I have a lot of "lower-end" vintage watches like Hamiltons and Seikos that either my father gave me or I recently bought from ideas I've gotten from this forum. I mostly lurk. I always have a rather odd "watch case" I found in an antique shop outside of Marin last time I was home I'll post. I have to wait for my sis to visit this week as I sadly for some reason can't find my camera.

I'd also suggest Finer Times. That's where I got my IWC. I used to pick some up on eBay, but I think you need to be more cautious nowadays. I haven't heard of many good deals at pawn shops, but you might check out independent watch repair shops (if there are any near you).

Here's what I was wearing today.

Since the temperature and humidity have finally reached a tolerable level here in Houston, I've been going through my watches with leather bands to see what needs to make a trip to my watch guy. Today's is a 1922 Elgin with a 7-jewel movement. It's still accurate to within about 1-2 minutes a day.

They sell nice stuff but are quite overpriced. Going with a reputable ebay seller is a good way to go. Ebay is more wholesale level prices.

Inspired by Socal, I just picked up this vintage ca. 1959 Longines Mystery Dial. I love the atomic age sensibility, plus it is in great shape, with original unrestored dial, crown, etc:
