Congrats on the beautiful JLC, wear it in good health! That has to be one of the most gorgeous timepieces I have seen in a very long time. I am sure you will find great joy in it!

It's a great looking watch. Enjoy it, and when you get a chance I would to see some photos of the other watches in your collection.

The reverso is certainly the signature JLC imo, but the MC series is beautiful too. I always find myself asking the same question--did I make the right choice? If I had one JLC it probably should have been a reverso, but at the same time, nothing ever spoke to me as much as that dang MUTM so I am happy. The 1931 in black is never far from my thoughts. If it had an open caseback I dunno what I woulda done. Sometimes they make your decision easier.

I have never seen a Reverso in the flesh, but that is definitely something that I would be interested in in the future. I feel like I am still a bit young for one, but I think it would be a great gift to commemorate some occasion. I would love to get one engraved. I think that you made a great decision on your MUT Moon, I still think that is one of the most gorgeous watches out there. That and the RDM are probably my favorite out of the JLC lineup (up to ~20k maybe?). I can't think of many other choices I would make until Lange 1 range. Some of the new Reversos are pretty smokin' as well.

I have not seen the 1931 in SS, only gold and it was well proportioned. (both are the same size). Elegant but not small. The beauty of the piece is in simplicity and proportion. The grande reverso enamel (not the blue, the one with the red and blue track) is much bigger, with a much bigger buckle too. The dial is beautiful, but I was not so crazy about the larger strap and buckle.

I still like the larger reversos, like the 976 for instance (I havent tried a squadra on my wrist) but the caseback isnt as nice as it could be. The appeal of a non circular watch also speaks to me--good to break things up in the week. Sometimes I worry about having too many black dials...if I were to buy a submariner, speedy pro, and a reverso 1931 for instance--black dial + dial marker overload!

Bottom line though is, gotta try it on the wrist. The rectangular shape does not work for everyone.

What really worried me about the MUTM, was I was all ready to buy it online but I had to see it in person because while I love the Master Ultra thin (the one with the small seconds at 6oclock) in pictures, when I saw it in person, I felt the subdial was SLIGHTLY too small in proportion to the rest of the watch. Somehow the MUTM does not have this "problem"--I think the reduction of the case size and perhaps the slightly larger disc balances things out better. Nothing can compare to seeing it in the flesh.

The problem with engraving: What do I get that will keep my interest over the long haul? Because if you engrave it...you better keep it because nobody else is buying it!!! I've said it before, I do not have a coat of arms, and screw the zodiac...

I love the Reverso as well and have been "planning" which one I'll eventually get and what model... I like the skeletonized versions but to have an engravable back is truer to the original purpose. However, it doesn't have to be engraving per say. I've read about the artists at JLC that can do all sorts of interesting enameling and mosaic work.. they can create a truly magnificent, miniature work of art on the back if you want; and have the $$$.

the engraving is cool for sure....

    +a million...

I got to tried on the 976. It looks great on my wrist. I'm saving up for a more dressy watch. So maybe an incoming in 1-2 years.....:foo:
But I do have my eyes on a Cartier Tank Americaine right now. My grandfather have a yellow gold one and its a really stunning watch.

I mean, it would definitely have to be a momentous occasion... maybe engagement? First born child? Retirement? Something of that ilk. I wish there was a JLC dealer even remotely close to me. The Tribute to 1931 is lovely though. I like the new Reverso Ultra Thin in general. Definitely would like to try it on at some point.

Hell yeah its beautiful. I think he said its really hard to obtain, and the new one that was just released does not have an open caseback...so a lot of the beauty of Dino's watch is lost right there. [IMG]

So as I have already said countless times...the MUTM was for my wedding, and my wife is pregnant with our first right now---I don't know if I am more stressed about baby or new watch choice [IMG]

At the moment, a speedy pro is really at the forefront (keeps with the moon theme--HA). I'm also toying with the idea of a panda mod. But a submariner or a SS 1931 reverso always lurk in the background [IMG]

If you are ever in the DC area....let's go JLC hunting we can go see Zaf Basha or something!

Buying a watch for that special occasion would be really sweet accomplish. I'll probably save that moment when I go buy my Lange 1. Anyway man...Lee Michael at the Mall of Louisiana doesn't carry JLC anymore? I always stop by my family AD in Houston to tried on a bunch of watches. So I never really see any reason for me to shop around the Baton Rouge area. They also told me they have carry Patek's over there.

Aww first off..congrats on the incoming baby.
You can't go wrong with a Speedy man. I really miss mines dearly. Good thing I sold it to a guy I know. I been throwing him offers for the past few weeks. One day he is going flip it back to me. :embar:

I had the 3572...Hesalite front and sapphire display back. So I get the best of both worlds.
