    Almost the weekend...lots to enjoy!

This is their ad watch and has just won watch of the year.
On November 1st, 2007, in front of 700 people assembled at the Beau Rivage Hotel in Geneva, Juan-Carlos Torres, Vacheron Constantin’s CEO, received, on behalf of the brand, the Jury Prize for the Watch of the Year 2007 - “Montre de l’AnnÃ[IMG]e 2007” - for the Patrimony Contemporaine Retrograde Day and Date.
On receiving the prize, Juan-Carlos Torres said: “By its decision to give first prize for the Watch of the Year 2007 to Vacheron Constantin for its Patrimony Contemporaine Retrograde Day and Date, the jury has rewarded and honoured the excellence of the horological tradition that respects the Geneva Hallmark.
It has also honoured the technical achievement, artistic elegance and savoir-faire that Vacheron Constantin has transmitted without interruption for over 250 years. I thank the jury for its decision and would like to share this prize with all our colleagues, but especially with all the creative and technical teams at Vacheron Constantin.”
The Patrimony Contemporaine Retrograde Day and Date is equipped with a double complication movement that takes its rightful place in the new generation of self-winding movements manufactured from A to Z in the Vacheron Constantin workshops.
Stamped with the prestigious Geneva Hallmark, the caliber 2460 R31R7 offers hour and minute as well as retrograde date and day functions.
The 18kt rose gold case is a generous 42.5 mm in diameter. Its convex sapphire back reveals the exceptional finishing and the decoration on the movement that has met Vacheron Constantin’s most stringent quality criteria.
At the end of each year, the two watch magazines Montres Passion and Uhrenwelt give the Watch of the Year Prize, an award made by a jury of professionals from the watch industry and announced at a ceremony that has become a key event of the watch year.

What do you guys think about these? Not exactly a "watch"; but, a "time" machine..or in this case Max Busser's Horological Machine No. 2

The spirit of this thread is officially lost when Socal insists on copy/pasting Jorge Merino's TZ watch news posts...

Excuse me for thinking about other people who might post in this thread (or just read and enjoy it) that don't take the time to go and look at www.timezone.com
I can only take so much of that site as much of it is just:
    "I bought/am wearing this watch"
    --Looks great!
    --A beauty!
    --Wonderful!
    --I have it too!

In a world of nearly limitless styles and versions of watches I strongly feel there are others who enjoy seeing pieces that someone here might not actually own. We could run all of StyleForum by your philosophy and only refer and post about things that we actually have on our bodies at that very second. No news, no planned purchases, no musings, no advice...sounds fun, right?

Socal - you're a free man. Do whatever you want. I wanted this to be a watch p0rn thread (like the shoe p0rn thread) , not a general watch discussion thread.

I think it's OK that it deviates from time to time into posting pics of dream watches or contemplated purchases but - honestly, copying and pasting new watch news from TZ with all the specs, etc... is pretty lame IMO, and not what the thread is about.

As you often posted that you generally don't give a flying shit about what others think or wish, I fully expect you to continue doing what you do

I don't really care that much about shoes so I don't frequent the Shoe P0rn thread that often. But, it was my understanding that premise of the threads are to enjoy and be visually stimulated by the shoes/watches...regardless if someone just bought them or they are a "grail" piece or just something that is effing cool to look at.

My understanding of p0rn must be different...I watch it because I can't always sleep with the subject matter (chances are I have at one point...but, that is another story entirely [IMG] ).

If you're gonna cry about it I'll stop.

Watch out. Much more of that out of you and you'll be sleeping with the squashes.

NR - all your vintage watches seem to be in perfect condition (dial, case, hands, markers...). Do you buy them like this or do you have them refinished or refurbished?

Nice watch BTW. Never came across Lucien Piccard before - any details on the brand?
