Since when did Seiko's sell for $5000+ ????
I saw that article today, too. A few short term ups and downs - but it won't be long.
Clarification: you mean bracelets, right? Because most watches with traditional lug designs allow for the addition of any band (i.e. not metal) that fits.
Srsly? Grand Seiko's are amazing - quality and price!!
Grand Seiko, not regular Seiko... ?

They are badass.
Junior Varsity, funny you should mention IWC, Rolex and Omega. I own watches from all these manufacturers. Grand Seiko more than holds it's own against them.
As mentioned in an earlier post, my GS is beautifully finished, with an accuracy which exceeds COSC. Moreover, Seiko is more vertically integrated than most Swiss brands. However if you, like many others, don't get it, that's fine by me!

The economy is a circle... someone / some company / country has to be in the green and others in the red.
I can't imagine the watch companies ever reducing the retail price, even the exchange moves in the opposite direction or the economy change.
yes, sorry, i meant bracelets.
This. If the Swiss Franc goes down, they will keep prices where they are and make even more money.
