Here's a crappy cell phone shot of my Tank Francaise.

I think it's 28 X 34 or thereabouts, definitely a "dress" size rather than sport.

I really like it, and especially respect the design heritage of it, but at the same time am seriously considering a flip towards an early model Roadster.

I probably should put the tank on a strap for awhile and maybe it would see more wrist time that way.

Well, if money were no object.....I would probably go with this:

Cartier Tank Americaine Tourbillon Volant

Can you tell this one is not my pic? LOL.

I like Cartier's classic shapes but that watch, while striking, kind of reminds me of what Zenith was doing a couple of years ago with those open heart watches.

i like the square santos dumont and pasha diver from the newer cartier lineup..

ralph lauren ads seem to have a lot of vintage cartiers in their ads. they look very small on the wrist. covered up usually by heavy tweed sportcoats. i quite liked that look.

youre actually really lucky, a vintage oyster like singular's or omega seamaster are some of the loveliest watches out there, and a total bargain.

Define "bargain." My last big watch purchase was a $15 Casio.

The Rolex Datejust watches measure 36mm.

The midsize Rolex Seamasters also measure 36mm.

Junghans Max Bill
And the awsome Nomos Tangente

You may have perceived that I like clean bauhaus stuff.

+3. I hate seeing big oversized watches, dress watches in particular.

+4!! 34mm is ideal for me. The largest watch I own is an Omega Railmaster "midsize" which is 36.2mm. My Air King is 34mm and so is my JLC Master Control Ultrathin.

I am nearsighted but I am also 6'1" and weight 210 pounds. So anything smaller than 38/40mm looks like a child toy on me.

Now if you are 5'6" and weight 150 pounds wet, you are right, 34mm looks better
