1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not saying you'll think it works, but you can see a Mark XV on a RAF and on a NATO strap here and here.

    So do I...

Naturally it depends on the type of watch used with the Nato strap, but if you follow what bhall states above, you'll look fine.

Need some advice guys regarding two watch repairs:

First, my Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope stopped turning the date today when I went to put it on. Where would you recommend servicing something like this?

Second, I was gifted a Cartier Roadster Automatic that has a cracked crystal and possibly damaged interior. I called Cartier and they estimated me $750 for a new crystal and service. That's complete bullshit IMO. Where would you recommend servicing this high end POS?

Rambo, what city and state are you in?

Do you want a local source or will you ship the Cartier for the work?

Depends on your location for sure, but in my point of view, go to the official service always is better.

The Junghans probably has a Valjoux 7750 movement, the Cartier prob. has some sort of ETA (2892-2?). Both are fairly standard movements, just refinished/dressed up slightly. Any proper watch repair guy should know these well. If the Cartier movement is completely f@{ked, I don't think $750 is that much - maybe you should get it checked by an independent watch repair guy first?

[IMG] i always wore my explorer on a nato, to me the strap bulked it out a bit. on a side note, dropped my speedy last night onto wooden floor [IMG] havent timed it yet but it seems to be running fast, also the resistance point when fully wound seems to have gone. anyone had this? is it a major repair?

If I remembered it correctly, it was Zeugma.

Near Boca Raton and Palm Beach, FL. I'd ship the fucker, sure.

Normally, I'd agree with you. But that estimate is outrageous IMO and that's without repairing the movement. Just a basic "service".

I figured the Junghans was rather standard but just thought I'd ask. The Cartier is something that I need to take in but I have no idea who to take it to? [IMG]
