A perfect blend of modern and vintage, with the lovely, lovely nipple dial.

Agreed. Very, very nice. Even though I have no love for current Rolex designs (or nearly any precious-metal Rolex), just about any GMT other than the ceramic is as foolproof and versatile as it gets. The black and gold just looks great on yours.

And looks so not-great on this one.

if you have gold watch (yellow gold) you have to match it with gold jewelry and gold colored belt buckles right?

isnt it considered unstylish to wear yellow gold watch and have say regular colored ring, necklace, belt buckle etc?

    No.

I would actually say that matching everything exactly is unstylish.

    i always thought the following
belt color should match shoes color should also match watch leather band color if its leather band.
watch metal color should match jewelry colored should also match belt buckle color...
maybe thats trying too hard, but imo most movies characters are wardrobed that way

I prefer consistency but I don't fuss over it.

My newest watch is a Seiko Alpinist.

    My first non-Swiss mechanical watch.

I like it a lot, and it's nice that it's reasonably priced, so it's not the end of the world if I lose or destroy it.

Nice. Those Japanese Seiko's are a great deal. What's the second winder for?

The second winder moves the bezel around. It's got some sort of compass feature on it, where you line the hour hand up pointing at the sun, adjust the bezel, and it tells you which way is North, etc. Unfortunately, the instructions were in Japanese, so I never did quite figure it out. (not that I really would ever use this feature anyway.)
