1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Was your dad in the CIA or an operator or something? .. actually don't answer that I don't want to know :p -- nice rolex/sentimental value. I really like this look/period for rolex actually.

Just a man with either a lot of bad luck or good luck, depending on how you look at it. After escaping Vietnam, he got stuck in Cambodia. After escaping that, he ended up in Iran and worked in Chinese restaurants for a while. Then the Iranian Revolution hit and he had to run to a different country. He settled on some place that was sure not to have civil strife - Canada.

In fact, if you were a serious diver you would not wear a dive watch while actually diving. While I appreciate the history and aesthetic of dive watches, I never wear one diving. Wrist mounted computers / digital depth and bottom timers are what are worn nowadays.

I do - I like the idea of redudancy (and wearing a nice watch over the suit).

The problem with diving is that it's an environment very rich in stainless steel & sharp corners. I scratched a sapphire crystal on a dive boat.

Fair enough but what about the fact a dive watch only shows elapsed time, not depth? I wear a computer on my wrist and carry a back up in my dry suit pocket.

Anyhow, will stop posting off topic. Post your dive watches!

Beautiful watch, that is on my list of things to get. I want to get one from 72 if possible, since that was my birth year. Not easy to find ones that look that nice.

ET - If you love it, get it. It looks great on your wrist and I am sure its singing that sweet tune to your ears.
