The GO would be a clear winner over the YM in my mind if they changed the hands. One of my pet peeves for watches are stubby hands; they look unrefined to me.

I don't like either actually. As much as I love GO's Pano series and some of their other dress watches (a couple Senator are nice), I find their attempts at sports watches quite unsuccessful. The only sports GO that I like are the pilot watches (Navigator)

Why did you go for spitfire vs classic?

Doesn't it have a platinum bezel?

Yah the black is nice looking (but, since he had the silver up..ya know).
The GMT is my favorite sport watch and on a bracelet is heavy so I would get it with the black nylon band with red stitching.

I like the raised numerals and sharper look of the spitfire over the more utilitarian and militaristic classic fliegerchronograph.

Is that the Thom Browne approved watch?

Methinks modern watches are a bit too large to be Thom Browne-approved. '60s watches were relatively small in proportion to today's behemoths.

I have a early 60s Audemars Piguet that belonged to my sainted father, and a modern VC of the same style (plain gold case, second hand, no date) and they are almost identical in size. I much prefer a small, simple gold watch to the modern monstrosities as well. I have a sport watch, but I don't wear it much even with casual clothes.

How large is the diameter? I suspect it's about 34mm? My circa 1949 18k Omega is 34mm and it's a nice size though for dressier watches, I feel 29mm is perfect.
