1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Closest I could think of off the top of my head, on the relative cheap, would be a Stowa Marine Original Roman.

Would have thought a Stowa is a bit lowbrow for your refined taste in watches? [IMG]

In all seriousness, not a bad suggestion.

Can't you just pick up a black bezel insert for the maxi dial LV?

That's not a Maxi dial LV...that's a Ceramic Green Sub!!

Thinking of modding my Steinhart Ocean Black DLC. I think id like to replace the Mercedes hands and replace them with different hands. Not sure which ones to go with just yet.

    *sigh*
"Sell for $1295 plus shipping ($25 US Delivery or $40 International via Global Express). "
Would being a certified chronometer make the timepiece that much more expensive?

Doesn't getting a chronometer COSC certified/regulated cost ~$400 or so? If so, that number makes sense.

absolute love that port. its just too big for my wrist.

'I am not giving up on the DateJust/Explorer I yet- 36mm does feel small to me, but just like I thought some watches felt too big at first, I think I would get used to it. 36mm has been a standard size for decades. Finding used Rolex models locally is not hard, finding a simple SS DateJust from the 80s-90s is proving very tough, which is bizarre. Patience is a big part of this process.'

you are right. put on my explorer 1 today for the first time in a while, in many ways it's the perfect watch.

i think i would still like it but black dial and band is a bit much for me i would get a brown band with black dial to add some contrast

Yep, know that, but applies to most flashy watches in London. Makes me glad to be poor.
