A sub vote here. Not a fan of the polished center links on the GMT II.

I'd go with the Sub, too.

    okay I need some advise...

I'm within striking distance to get a rolex sub, the former model- not the new ceramic bezel ones and no rolex-hate comments please, but I've been also looking at the new GMT2 which would put my budget back a bit but I can probably afford to get in a few more months. now I'm stumped on whether to get the sub or wait out for the gmt2.

Rolex are excellent sports watches. I think it really is a matter of taste and of course also if you will find a 2nd time zone useful. I have one of each, like to bring the Sub for beach vacations and find the GMT2 a bit "dressier", more suitable for some stylish casual wear. I would normally not wear a watch on bracelet with suit and shirt.

Considering that you can get a Sub now but would need to save a few months for the GMT2, I would get the Sub now. You'll satisfy the Rolex itch promptly and you will not stretch yourself beyond a reasonable watch budget. [IMG] Good luck!

To each, his own, but IMO, that watch is a nightmare.

Old sub at current MSRP is a ripoff IMHO, so many better options.

If you absolutely have to have a Rolex then go for any of the updated models, but again so many other better choices out there when spending that kind of money IMHO.

    Good luck

The engraving took some time, but it finally arrived:

And it's every bit the memento I'd hoped it would be...
