It is indeed quartz and something of an oddity in the ML range: A COSC certified quartz chronometer model, made (apparently) as a limited edition for the German market. It's fitted with the thermocompensated ETA 251.232 chrono movement. More details on my blog, should you be interested.

No... not mine... but a good friends. We took it on a long road trip (about 1000 miles) this weekend. Not the most comfortable car for long road trips... but a small sacrifice...
