1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Would you rather own a plane (BLNT) or a yacht (Sub)? In all seriousness, blue gmt is the hottest right now and is more noticeable. The sub is timeless and a touch more discreet.

Yeah, can't really go wrong J. Try them all and see which one you like the most.

    BLNR is ok..

also it was a nice way to get some wrist porn lol.

I think both are gorgeous in their own element, I guess I can give the fiancee those choices and let her decide

It's a win-win situation in my book. Both are fantastic pieces.

How about a JLC Deep Sea (European dial)? Sorry I find nothing appealing with modern Subs/GMTs.

Yes. This approach will get you a great watch, and also a good start to your married life. Giving her the choice is the secret to your happiness in all things!

Not to muddle the waters, but since you're in SF, you should check out these guys:

    http://hqmilton.com/

I've personally bought four watches from them. They have a great selection and pretty fair prices. If you're open to a vintage piece and it doesn't have to be ceramic, then they might have something you dig.

    SubC = Submariner Ceramic

BLNR = blue black bezel GMT, stands for "BLeu / NoiR "

LV = Could refer to either SubC LV ref 116610 or the 50th anniversary Sub (not ceramic). LV is "Lunette Verde" = green bezel.

    Excellent choice.

I don't have a BLNR but I have a bunch of SubCs. The wife uses the SubC LV exclusively, and it has the dings to show for it all.

Thank you to all who have helped with my inquiry! I will definitely mention to her what my "favorites" are and see what she picks from there.

Mike I think for the future I might use that site because prices look pretty damn good.

Let the soon to be wife make the final decision. Years ago I was in a similar situation (although it was pre-ceramic models) so it was between a Sub, black dial Explorer II and GMT II. Mrs. Dino chose the Explorer II, figuring the second time zone would come in handy for travel on our honeymoon, and she thought it flew a bit more under the radar than the models with the rotating bezels such as the Pepsi (blue/red) GMT.

In the end the Explorer II has served me well for more than a dozen years, a few years later I added a Sub and eventually a GMT. So what you don't end up with now, you can always add later for a true win-win situation...or a win-win-win situation. [IMG]

    Amen to "let her decide"!

Once you've narrowed it down to choices that you love, the sentimental part will take care of the rest.

    You really can't lose tho.

    Congratulations. :bigstar:

Heavy rain forecast in NYC today. Didn't want to get the DBlue wet, so wore this one.

    +1

Once you've worked that out, you've nailed down the secret to a successful marriage (8 years for me and counting!) :D

BLNR over the subc. I prefer the older subs with aluminum inserts over the new ceramics. It's all about the patination with the sub.

A bit of color goes a long way.

LVc is nice too, but all green makes it a bit less versatile.
