1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Oh man. Sorry to hear. On the plus side, if she wasn't getting much wear (did you have to force yourself sometimes to wear her, on rotation), then hopefully she's moved on to someone who will appreciate her more. Best wishes on the third watch!

And hey, our love for watches probably seems silly to a whole bunch of people. [IMG]

On a bunch of related topics, here's:

    2. On a Rubber B
    3. In the water, where few dare to take it

Pic from a friend diving off the Palawan Islands in the Philippines. Used a GoPro.

I have to admit at 42 I would pick it up in a heartbeat, that being said - this is an insanely perfect watch as it is, and I'm just weird

Looks like something from the Vintage 1945 collection by Girard-Perregaux. You might send the photo to GP and see what they say.

You know me, @tifosi ... "Mr Diplomacy." [IMG]

@mimo - you sense a disturbance in the TWAT force?

@rnguy001 - well, you like the DSSD. So that makes you a bit weird. And in good company, IMHO. [IMG]

I am also in rnguy's company, on both points: I like the specialness and the thickness of the SD4000...but not enough to take it above the standard Sub. But were it a touch wider, with a commensurately phatter bracelet like the Tudor Black Bay, it would be bestest.

Anyway, I have a new, simple theory on Rolex dive watches: whichever one you like best, you're probably right.

A few weeks ago I got to try on Frills DeepSea D-Blue Dial SD - the dial is very cool and I could see the overall appeal of that watch and its over engineered design...but it was just too much watch for me. BTW, liking the DSSD doesn't makes you weird- according to my non-watch friends, being on this thread makes you weird [IMG] , but at least you're in good company!

Mimo, let me make a meme-o for you:

To be fair, I likely pawned this meme idea off of this one:

Now, where to for a glass of wine and people watching? Latin quarter I'm thinking.

    G*d dammit you guys!

I gotta quit looking at all these awesome Rolex sports models or I'm going to do something stupid.

    @ BH that's another awesome-looking dessert.

And I don't want to scroll back on my phone, but whoever posted that Stowa pic: that was one of the better shots I've seen of that watch.

    Great strap too.

That one rivals Dino's dessert. If there was a fight between those two desserts, I don't know which one would win. Looks like you're having an awesome time in Paris.

No more pics after this one for a few days. Still happy with it.

I wonder how many watches have changed hands in poker games.

Everyone is rocking the BLNR these days. My neighbor just got back from Germany and saw me in the garage working on a coffee table. He stopped in to show me his souvenir from his trip, the BLNR. I was in a local Tourneau because they had a Daytona in (but spoken for) to try next a SD4000 the other week, and they had a couple BLNR that they were pushing hard.

Anyway, keep enjoying it Steel, and good luck at the table.
