It's a very manly feeling to wake up in the morning and wind your watch for the upcoming day.

This. Usually when I do this, I know my day is going to be great.

I have absolutely no issues with winding this one manually.

I wouldn't mind too. Also not spoiler because well who doesn't want to look at this piece again.

Today, Mexico lost in the World Cup and people look like if someone they know died. I'm not a soccer fan or follower so I went to buy nice steaks. :D

Guess I'm in the minority that hates manual wind. another chore to do in the morning. It doesn't stop me from buying a watch if I really want it (the Lange for example)

7 hours on the train to Milton Keynes for a meeting. Never tire of how the case of my RO reflects light and shadow.

I would never tire of that, either. Beautiful.

Is that a TOPO Designs bag in the background?

Well-spotted! My TOPO is one of my go-to bags for short hauls.

Nice! I use their "Mountain Briefcase" for work. It's the same green as your bag. So that, the red cord and the leather patch clued me in.

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the watch scene and was wondering if you could give me a little, um, unusual help. This post by Belligero made think of getting a Sinn 556i. A few days ago, one came up on Watchuseek for a really good price, but the seller, Ottovonn, hasn't responded to my pms, probably because I'm a noob there. My watch guru, in stitches, suggested I post here to see if any of you are bigwigs there and might be able to pm the seller to reassure him that I'm trustworthy. Pls. don't hesitate to pm me if you think you could help. Much appreciated.

I never met a seller that would decline a wire transfer. Maybe offer that. Unless someone here knows him. Do you know anyone in NYC that could get it for you in person?

Gotta assume you got an eBay account with good feedback. Tell him your username and have him message you via eBay. Otherwise, post more on WUS, or offer to wire payment. PayPal apparently does auto review for high value transfers now, and this seems to "spook" some sellers.

Thanks guys. I do have a brother in NYC, but he has an infant and I'd hate to bug him. But it could be an option.

I did send him my eBay ID, which is over ten yrs old w/ 100% positive feedback. Wire transfer's a good idea, although he stipulated Paypal to CONUS in the ad.

Ottovonn has been around WUS for a long time. Not sure if he is ignoring you because you are a noob, but I dunno. I would PM him again. I think Cant kill da Rooster is right when he suggests a wire. For the seller, I don't believe there is any risk. I never ask for references when I am selling. If I get the money I send the watch. It's different when I am buying. I want to make sure the watch is going to show up on my doorstep.

I believe I was just looking at that same watch...haha.

Happy July TWAT!

I love all my recent Rolex dive watch acquisitions, and rotate through them regularly. Still, if there had to be JUST ONE...
