1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

What about workout watches? I know this thread is mostly reserved to high priced mechanical timepieces, but what do you guys wear when working out/jogging/cycling?

I'm looking for something that's pretty water/humidity proof (I tend to sweat a lot when exercising, even forearms/wrists), and I could benefit from a heart rate monitor. I don't really care for the GPS/satellite ability as I'd like to keep the price relatively low.

Is there any other choice available apart from Casio/G-Shock and some Timex Ironman?

    Thanks!

Everything I wear is for running, and they all have GPS/satelite is them now. I've worn a lot of Garmin (the Nike and Tom Toms don't measure up), which has become more sweat and water resistant through their iterations. I have destroyed a few with my own sweat while training for fall marathons (August Tempos and Long Runs blow). A bunch of friends wear the Timex Ironman Sleek and like it. There are plenty of watches that are just heart rate focus, it just depends on your needs. Garmin products have gotten pretty good through the years, and I can personally rec them now where I couldn't before in terms of handling sweat (I sweat more than anyone I've ever met).

I guess what functions do you need, and what's the budget?

Both have pro stuff and then for a regular jogger. Then again, Casio/Seiko are the more watch pedigree choices.

^^^ Also that white glove is from the computer screen. It is not part of the watch design. Just sayin.

Nice to see Patek try something different for them, but a swing and a miss so far.

    Hahah.

On the plus side... 5711 in all rose gold and chocolate dial. Probably a hit.

i just said the first thing that came to my mind. On second thought that's what comes to mind as well. The complication says Patek but everything else is something other than Patek in my mind. The 5711 in RG and chocolate dial maybe a Nautilus but it looks like a Rolex. It wouldn't be something I would purchase and I like Rolex.
