So, Ahoi has arrived from the Netherlands and I have been wearing it for a couple weeks. Finally got some pictures today. Lots of snow in Boston so these pics only seemed appropriate. I also bought a metal bracelet to go with it and will post some pics once I have made the swap.

I know there has been some back and forth about Nomos the past few days. The watch grows on you the more and more you wear it. Oddly I most appreciate how quickly I can read the time due to the simplicity of the dial. Funny how that is important in a watch. My CVDK always took an extra second to get the time due to the busy dial.

    Very very nice, euro!

    ---

So, as requested, I tried to get some pics of the Royal Oak 15300. I have tried 3 different times, and on none of these occasions was I pleased with the outcome.

All the same, I give up, so here is what I think are the best pics of the hundred or so I took. Caveat, Im not a great photographer, and this watch looks a million times better in person, so please keep that in mind.

^ You're a better photographer than I am, Stitchy. Well done, great watch!

Great shots stitch! I'm sure you are LOVING that piece.

For the sake of comparison, since it gets asked here a lot, here are some dial shots of the 15400, where I think you can see some of the aspects of the metallic dial of the 15400 vs. the truer white dial of the 15300.

    Thanks, guys!

TC, those are great pics. I know I ended up with a different model than you, but a lot of my inspiration to make the jump was due to those pics of yours. And those of trip d. :)

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC, you have not actually ever seen a 15400 in person, have you? This story may not have ended just yet . . . :) j/k I apprecaite the merits of each and am happy that you got the one that spoke to you the most. :)

Looks like JLC added the black dial MUT moon to their site.

15400's seem to be significantly more abundant than 15300's on various forums. :( Instinctively I'd lean toward the 15300, but I'd like to handle one in person...

Well the main reason I went with the 15400 over 15300 was size. Try as I might I can't get used to anything smaller than 40mm

Thats is interesting. Wonder why that is. Anyone have production numbers?

Handling one in person is perhaps overrated? :hide:

Im glad that there is love for both in the world.
