1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

It's not really FedEx, from what I understand it's the Dept of Homeland Security/U.S. Customs and Border Protection giving you an importer ID.

You only have to do it once and then they'll have you on their record and won't be asked again.

For some reason this is a hit or miss on smaller/lower value items but on bigger ticket items it is more likely you'd need to do it.

    Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine, Ill take the tourb.

They just want to make sure they get your money when they send you the customs bill. Or some fat desk jockey at a customs desk said they need it. Who knows, its surely some red tape bureaucratic stupidity.

I bet you could get around it, but honestly, I doubt you are going to get scammed and it will just cost you more time before you get the strap.

Tell you what, I'll trade you my Luminor for a 250 GTO Berlinetta, problem solved.

No but seriously, what's the watch equivalent of the Edward Green Chelsea?

Quote:Off the top of my head I'd say Rolex / Omega. I'd put the likes of Blancpain, JLC and in-house IWC in the St. Crispin's zone. I'd put Patek / Vacheron / AP in the bespoke category. Going down the scale I'd put the likes of, say, Hamilton and Longines roughly in the AE / Alden zone. All quite arbitrary and entirely subjective, mind you.

I would also extrapolate the cartoons here (someone posted previously) to comparable shoes.

Not necessarily for the purposes of competing for prettiest automatic movement, these are some that appeal to me.

4 with micro rotors and 4 with full rotors.

In re FedEx: they are under extra scrutiny right now and will be for the foreseeable future. Google the news.

Outstanding. I remember fondly how infatuated I was with my white dialed Daytona when I first got it.

Thanks TC! I can't get enough of it. It's insanly accurate as well as you know. Everytime I pick it up it feels incredible. I know some people won't understand me but you do bond with your Grail watch.

    :D

Oh I do understand! Unfortunately I'm on day 17 of an estimated 2 week wait for delivery of my current grail. Feels like an eternity! :)

Also thought this was super cool. Special acoustic mini guitar/piano thing for AP to test the sound of their repeaters.

I wonder what the ideal repeater sounds like in their estimation? Quiet?
