1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Straight out of the pointless post coaching manual that one [IMG]

Constructive opinions welcome with possible other watches of a similar style to check out. I really like the late 60's Breitling Navitimer, but I'd have to wait for my father to give his up I think!

To be fair to gld, his post was no less constructive/informative than the one to which he was responding...and you did ask what people thought of it.

Nice combo Marrakesh. Black ostrich straps are pretty unusual. I'd like to see a better shot of the strap if you have one

Nope, but I would if I had that kind of money to spend on a camera. The MP is gorgeous and built like a tank. Unfortunately, it's part of a dying breed.
Leicas aren't necessarily that expensive. A new one is, but a used or vintage one can be had for under $2000.

The top one is new. The result of a recent trade in of a platinum JLC that I had grown bored of. I also have a vintage AP that is in for service.

Please let me know if you ever want to get rid of this watch. I think it's just about perfect as far as handwound time-only dress watches go; my only (minor) quibble is that the movement is a bit small compared to the case. I prefer it to the Lange 1815 and AP 3090.

The watch I'm wearing today: [IMG] An 18kt gold Omega on an ostrich strap. The dial is much more interesting than it looks in pictures.

and that's the way you do it!"). It's better than a diamond ring ("that sort of gift don't mean anything"), a car (because his lover needs something to "let you know you're my shining star"), or "a house in the hills" (because "a girl like you needs something real"). It is also suitable for any holiday or occasion: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and even "over at your parents' house" and "midday at the grocery store
