Yeah, thinking about the strap only. The bracelet is too much, and not as comfortable on my wrist.

I have never felt much of a pull for ROCs but that picture you posted was lovely and would certainly convince me to take a second look.

It scared the chips right off the plate ...

I actually like rose gold for the ROC, but prefer the hour markers and sub dials on this one.

Quote:Big honkin' gold sports watches aren't my thing at all. This one is definitely more my speed. Eliminate the date and it would be excruciatingly perfect.

The AP ROC is nice and I remember watching that episode and noticing the watch! I have not tried on a gold sport watch but think it may catch my eye at some point in life. I enjoy when other TWATers post them as YG tends to be in your face loud and I may not enjoy that once on my wrist.

To paraphrase PG (remember him??) - Exackery. On a related note, the new 15202 (different colour date window to example above) is IMO superb, and I may have started saving already for it... :)

Honestly do not think it is a good idea to trade 3 watches, each superb in their own right, for (IMO) the watch equivalent of baconaise, or a hot pink Ferrari.

Think about it - IMO as a "design icon" it fails (a PG version of a luxury steel watch??), as a sports watch it fails (croc strap), and as a chronograph, well, for $50k MSRP there are plenty of other options out there. If you are after this sort of "look" the VC Overseas chrono comes to mind.

Sure, PG was most exerent. The one in the pic above is the original '72 RO Jumbo ref. 5402 and the most beautiful of all ROs IMO. But I can understand saving for the new 15202; it's probably the only current production watch I could see myself doing that for.

NonServiam, as I dislike any and all coloured gold for a man's watch you should take my opinion with the appropriate chunks of salt ;-)

Logically, this is unassailable. But precious metal sports watches are by definition an indulgence, a guilty pleasure, the fake tits of the watch world. If you're going to go for it -- go big!

I have got to say, I think that the individual pieces that you have acquired are much more horologically interesting than the ROC. However, I have no doubt that the massive chunk of rose gold that is the AP ROC would be very satisfying to look at.

The heart wants what the heart wants.

    Personally, I prefer the 15202.

What do you mean by "input." Personally, I do not care for MOP on the dial of watch. Pearls are for girlz.

*Edit: buy what you like, just personally I view a MOP face as a somewhat effeminate trait for watch dials.
