1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Accuracy is, to me, the most important aspect of a watch.

    $5 quartz will do the job better than all mechanical watches.

    Speedmaster reduced, for the man about town with the smaller wrist;

    Nice watch and fantastic pictures. Btw, how much bigger is your Planet Ocean in comparison to this model?

    Of course you can't -- and nobody has -- but that isn't the point of a mechanical watch. Some people appreciate the ingenuity that went into designing the tiny little machine that sits on our wrists. We also actually enjoy that these are devices that need regular maintainance and attention. Besides, who the hell needs to know what second it is?

    I do. Being on time is VERY important in my job.

    I have been wondering that as well. Which profession are you in if you don't mind my asking?

    To the second? And just how wildly inaccurate do you really think mechanical watches are? I wear one every day, and I'm always on time, too.

    Well the Speedy is 38mm and the PO 45.5mm. To be fair the PO wears smaller than you would think, it really doesn't look that huge on the wrist. The Speedmaster reduced feels quite delicate in comparison, I treat it like a sport/casual watch as I think that it looks best in that situation. The real big difference between them is the weight, the PO is like a swiss knuckle duster.

    I'm a teacher.

    In that case, you're probably the only one in the room who cares about the time...

    I used to wear a watch with two independent crystals so I could be darned sure of the time -- believe it or not, I didn't like to be late for class. Now I wear an old gold Longines, and the 5-10 sec max variance seconds doesn't really matter. I'm a nicer person, now, as a side benefit.

    Best,
    Huntsman

    Too big. But then I hate today's modern case-size trend.

    Americana with your watch (doesn't have to be an American watch...something I don't think anyone would want) was the theme.
