that patina is a very legit answer to the notion of artisanal dials imo

Don't understand, are you suggesting that Rolex dials are "artisanal?"

Also, great looking watch--but what patina?

Cool! Given the Budapest shoemaking and B&W photography connection, I thought you might appreciate these photos from Marcel Mrsan’s workshop before he moved to the US:

An American friend of mine who now tends bar professionally (best in Missouri) studied under Marcell for a couple of years in Budapest.

The opposite, as a factory product. Dial looks a bit toned.

So nice, love the patina on the dial. I've been looking at pretty much this exact watch, not in small park because it's 1)Hand wound 2) Acrylic crystal.

Do you find it hard to get serviced?

Ive only had it a few months and bought it from a really diligent watchmaker who always does a phenomenal job at overhauling his watches.

Next service shouldn't be a problem either with my local NYC watchmaker

That's a classic look that will always look great.

Yet I think a number of people strongly dislike the cyclop

Perhaps a good illustration of the old maxim that no-one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the [watch-buying] public...

What makes it even more insane is that, according to the article, the watch was released as a limited edition last year - and now they're releasing it as another limited edition. I mean, if you release it in *two* limited editions, that must mean it's twice as limited, right?!
