How scratched up is the bezel? If it's not so bad, I'd just leave the watch as is. You're put some damage on it anyway as it protrudes so much from the case, my recommendation would be to wait a year or so and see how you feel.

Also, I would never send a vintage watch back to the manufacturer. You're 10x better off finding an independent watchmaker to fix it up for you. I agree that you should check the Omegaforum for more info, and see their recommendation.

Bezel is in very good condition, minus a new scratch I can't account for. However, the pusher head came off, so I'm afraid I will need to get it repaired. I'm seeking to have the seller perform or pay for the repair, but am intending to go through a repair shop. I would just like to get an OEM replacement pusher.

We sent my Dad's chronostop to Omega USA for repair after it sat in a drawer for 20 years. I don't remember the exact reasons but it didn't work out well. I ended up sending it to Omega Bienne for a second service (mid 00's) and it came back working perfectly (and has worked great ever since).

These days, I'd look for an independent Omega repair shop that specializes in vintage. I wish I could recommend one but as @Texasmade said, check omegaforums for a referral. There is a shop near me, The Watchmaker in Stoneham, MA. They were an authorized Omega service center for many years. They serviced my old Ref. 225450 Seamaster equipped with a ETA 2892 movement. That movement and the hand wound movement in your Chronostop aren't in-house or anything so any qualified watchmaker should be able to work on it. I'd think that a good shop could source vintage Omega parts for something like yours. Given your location, there must be someone local that you can use.

I did a quick search for "nyc area watchmaker omegaforums" and found a handful of relevant threads. Manhattan Time Service seems to pop up in a few threads.

Thanks, G. I actually have a quote request out to Manhattan Time Service, so hopefully it's reasonable and they have access to an OEM pusher. The seller said they would refund the repair provided it's reasonable. Otherwise they're going to refund the watch. I'd rather keep the watch.

If the innards are shown to be **** or the parts turn out all aftermarket, then I agree. If it's just a broken pusher, this seems common enough.

“Hi. Name’s Chad. Just made VP of sales last week, so. Yeah. Um. I like vanilla ice cream - but only one scoop. Really leaning towards eartho-vegan, ya know. Only into missionary, to be honest, but the lights have to be sepia tone. Really into Bon Iver and Colorado IPAs. Hit me up on Tumblr. Later.”
