So nobody is going to point out that the "hated" date window on the Chanel watch is actually the jumping hour window?

As far as not liking a majority of the watches up for offer, is that much different than any other auction? Don't get the hate for the Chanel watch or the exposed screws in general. I can understand if its not to your tastes, but it takes all kinds I suppose.

100%.

The Lange Zeitwerk has exposed screws and a jumping digital hour indicator as well. But 2022 SF watch thread is equal to mid-2010’s Hodinkee comment wall, where Lange is the BEST. Because FINISHING.

My 2005 Rolex 16710 has been on my wrist this week, for a splash of color in a grey, wet season. Picked this one up for a song way back when, still find the five digit models the most versatile Rolexes.

Tried on the Pelagos 39mm at the local AD, wears much like a lighter five digit Sub, so fit me perfectly  Not fully sold on titanium over steel, but it certainly is tooly.

I love how the Ti case and bracelet are finished*. It looks so nice up close and is a nice contrast from stainless.

* Not to be confused with Foo's disdain for SF 22's adoration of Lange FINISHING *

Some polished surfaces would make it more impressive. Brushing is much easier to do.
Didn't you have all the polished surfaces on your Daytona bracelet brushed not that long ago?

Yes. What does that have to do with my comment? I wanted to make my Daytona look more tool-like and vintage. The aim was not to show-off better or more difficult case finishing.

Looks fine. It’s competent industrial finishing. What do you find special about it?

This is how I imagine your office the monday after thanksgiving:

Coworker: Foo, you have a nice thanksgiving?

Foo: Yes, you?

CW: It was great, we really enjoyed our turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes.

Foo: Meh...sounds like a fine competent meal. Brining the bird would have made it more impressive. What did you find so special about it?

CW: See you next year 🤚 .

Dude, you’re the one showing off photos of box mix mashed potatoes and waxing on about how smooth they came out.

I’m saving up (by not buying straps) for a Zenith CMS which probably won’t get much love round here

zenith cms or polar exp II will be my next watch as well (maybe a nomos tetra in between).

i am a big fan as well.

Actually I am wearing it today and maybe the strap will break faster than I thought...

I think it goes well with a Kirkland t-shirt and this Rogue Territory jeans lol.

As for other colour options. I really like how this strap from Delugs looks like with the Tank. For more casual look.

Lots of people just think of them as dress watches, but Tanks are very versatile. I haven't worn my with just a t-shirt and jeans, but I wear it with jeans and a sweater and a lot of other casual outfits. BTW, looks great on the taupe strap with contrasting white stitches.
