Yes. I asked the strap maker to use curved spring bars because I thought it would narrow the gap between the case and the strap. It made it worse. So, straight-end straps are best with this case.

Also, the holes in the lugs are not angled for a curved spring bar. Would remove ASAP before you cause real damage.

I assume the curved spring bars are also not made of gold? If steel, the risk of damage is even higher.

Maybe I’m reiterating what someone recently said, but isn’t damage to lug holes darn near impossible to fix?

If so, I hope it happens to @George Red.

Would be suitable penance for flying too close to the sun.

On Foo’s advice, I swapped the strap out. Good looking out, sugar.

Much better. Curved ends look worse anyway.

Side note: I’ve noticed that Rolex people have a weird thing about not wanting to show space between the case and strap. Maybe because they are all used to bracelet watches? Bizarre.

Well, for starters, I’m not a “Rolex people.” I own more of other brands than I do Rolex. I like other brands more than Rolex. I hate case gap, just generally. Don’t know why, but I just do.

I didn’t say what you are or aren’t. As I said, it was a side note.

Regardless, “case gap” is just normal and natural on a strap watch.

Too bad it’s not a Lange, which is cleverly equipped with titanium sleeves that address this design flaw. :)

It’s not a “flaw”. The spring bar metal should match the metal of the surrounding hole, whatever that metal is.
