Tank LC on leather is $13K retail. With the rose gold bracelet it's $28K. Is it weird to have the bracelet cost more than the watch itself? Sort of feel it becomes more of a piece of jewelry that just happens to tell the time. Maybe that's not a bad thing from a woman's point of view?

Think of it this way…..there’s way more gold content in the bracelet compared to the watch case itself, hence the cost of the bracelet being higher. And the price of gold is high to boot.

I went to a Cartier AD today and they had like 10 watches to show in total so not much stock. I asked if they could get a Tank LC and they said yes they can. Unfortunately the Tank Cintree is boutique only now. They also had a massive Rolex display case with like 4 watches in it.

I guess I'm going by the fact that I've never seen anyone wearing a Tudor in real life, nor have I ever met anyone who's heard of them except for enthusiasts. I certainly don't think they have the general mainstream appeal that matches Omega, Panerai, IWC, or even Tag, frankly. I accept that I may be wrong though and that times are changing.

Also, I wonder how many places choose to carry Tudor vs. being gently asked to carry Tudor by their Rolex overlords.

But Becks and Gaga!!!

Are you trying to use us as a focus group for arguments to get out of buying your wife that Tank?

Objection. Calls for speculation.

Is it you or your wife that wants the 'WATCH' as a present? Would she care if it was a piece of jewelry instead? You can buy truly stunning vintage jewelry for 13K to 28K that would be unique and much more memorable gift compared to mass produced merchandise.

Anyone use G shock?
Am I thinking about buying one, just to use it on the summer beach and in nature, or should I opt for a more elegant diver watch?
As they are all so big I was thinking about buying a smaller and square DW-5600

I think the Casioak models are generally the smallest wearing ones at this point if that is a main concern.

Can someone help me understand why this VC Overseas 49140 doesn't get more love? The pre-owned prices on these are very reasonable

Former client had one.

It was *very* understated. Wears smaller than it states, and the hands, dials and subdials all blend in. The bezel also, despite its strong shape. I always look, and yet it took me maybe 5 meetings over a few weeks to realise the guy was wearing a VC. Honestly I thought he had one of these quartz mall metal-on-metal Seikos.

That being said I'm not sure about "no love" - the Chrono24 prices are 2-3x what I remember!

I feel like those earlier versions just suffer by comparison to the more recent versions of the Overseas.
I think I'm just a bigger fan of the smaller case size. The 49150 is 42mm

Okay, I guess I can see that now that I'm looking at it more
