Realistically you're probably nowhere closer to getting it than you were 3 years ago unless you've been purchasing from the AD in the last 3 years.
**** man! This month makes three years on the waiting list ... no it’s not called that any more it’s a “registration of interest” ... and I don’t know if I’m any nearer to getting my hands on one of these. It was predicted to be eighteen months to two years. A quick look at eBay for a view on grey market pricing and they seem to be going up ever higher.
Still looking good.

You've been waiting for 3 years for a call back? You are a Rolex stalker. They've probably took a restraining order against you in that AD shop.

Yeah sad but true - I’ve been resigned to the thought that you’re probably right.

Mind - as much as I’d like to own that watch it’s not like my life is wrapped up in it as a necessary badge of my worth and achievement so if it happens I’ll be happy but if not there are other less frivolous things I could spend my dough on.

See my previous comments. There is no list. Just money.

Maybe. I have a GMT incoming from an AD I’ve been dealing with for about three months - bought one watch. The AD “game” is more than money...

Like I said—it can happen. But rarely. Vast majority of these watches are not going to people who simply put their name down.

Money certainly helps but you do have history with the AD since you bought one watch. If I tried to walk in with no history, I'd expect no traction.

True. I text with my AD at least a few times a week, but mostly to just shoot the **** (we’re friends at this point, even though we haven’t known each other that long ...I know their hobbies, interests, etc. They know all about me in the same ways - why I’m into watches, etc...we trade watch articles and discuss various “trade talk” matters among other things...Basically just typical good relationship between people on two sides of a common interest...). Money is still a topic, but I’ve been fairly open about what I intend to spend year-to-year (we talk yearly “goals”...)
