Watch shopping in Boston. I like the Hulk, but not $16.5K of like for a pre-owned model. (It’s under $10K if you can find it new at an AD.) The other two are acquired tastes, but good buys pre-owned.

I regret not getting a hulk 2 years ago when offered one for 15k AUD (a touch over 10k USD), now I see them for 22k AUD... ?

Can’t reconcile myself with the Octa, just a bit too one dimensional.

I own a Omega Seamaster Pro Planet Ocean, the version from around 8-10 years ago when it was available on an orange faux-alligator strap. It's a great watch, but has been appropriated by someone who wears it far better than I ever could.

Okay, I threw in a gratuitous extra image of my 16750 as well ?

But I got an email from Omega yesterday announcing a new generation the of Planet Ocean, with an orange ceramic bezel. I kinda like it, which is a problem as this makes about five watches I've encountered in the last month or so that really appeal to me. Perhaps I should start a Go Fund Me page or something...

I also like the new orange Omega PO. Unfortunately it’s 43.5mm size and around 16mm thick. I wouldn’t be able to wear it with most of my dress shirts. Omega needs to slim down their watches.

The thickness has always been the obstacle preventing me from buying one even though I do like some of their designs and colors.

The vintage sports Rolex market is also insane. Checked out two matte dial Pepsi 16750 GMT models at EWC. The price of entry is above $15K! The last decent buy for five-digit sports Rolex is probably the matte dial 16800 Submariner. Too bad the Sub doesn’t really do it for me.

Well I guess it’s a good thing I’m indifferent to Rolex...

I was also in Boston yesterday and today and tried on similar things. Went to a Bvlgari event last night...then went to Grill 23 for Steak & dessert. Today tried on a pre-owned ceramic Pepsi and liked it, but at $18,500...no thanks. I’ve been to EWC several times. Always fun to see what they have in stock.

Love your 16750, that was my first good watch. I wish I still had it. I like the bezel and dial of your old PO, more than on the new ceramic version! Cheers!

Long time lurker in the thread(s). Maybe a dumb post-but could use some advice. Ready to start spending a bit more on watches. Have a Speedy and an older black ss Sub both bought used. I’m going to try and develop a relationship with an AD who has been very helpful in times I’ve dropped in. Any recs for starting and showing them I’m serious about sticking with them? Any realistic expectation of discussing Rolex SS Daytonas or GMTs? Thanks.
