Friends, I'd like to share with you guys the premier model of my new brand Millésime, the Majestique Haute Horlogerie watch featuring a flinqué enamel dial and Vaucher ultra-thin movement with solid gold micro-rotor, available in 5 dial colours.

Love to hear your opinions about it!

Dials and hands are lovely. Don't care for the case engraving (if that's what it is). Lugs look like they could be knocked off by a modest bang against a door jamb. What is the price point?

Yeah, the lugs do look awfully fragile. I know that it's a fine dress watch, not a tool watch, but those lugs do look pretty precarious on that case...

@Benjamin Chee HH interesting aesthetic you ended up with! Love the case and lugs (however fragile they may or may not be, as previously mentionned). I also love the dial pattern and color, but I am not a fan or sterile/empty dials.

Not exactly a fan of the hands, but I can’t offer a better or constructive alternative. Nor do I like the side engraving, unless you want to be associated to Invicta...

Watches feature in the Pierre Bergé Auction lots from 401 to 413. Ridiculously low estimates.

As usual with Sotheby's... Just look at the estimates they had put for the Robin Williams estate. Some of them were downright hilarious; $4K-$6K for his Daniel Roth perpetual calendar... :rotflmao::rotflmao:

Please excuse the slightly commercial tone of my post, but I am super, super excited to tell you that we (Atelier Wen) will be launching (on Kickstarter) in les than 12 hours! I have been working on the brand for the past year and a half, and it is amazing to finally see it come to life!

So rendez-vous tomorrow (19/10) at Noon GMT+2!

A few old pics that I really like!

I know this watch is out of its league on this thread and I hope I don’t get banned for posting it here. I just think it’s so beautiful and thus had to be shared along with all the other beautiful and much more expensive watches out there. Can’t sneeze at the beautiful column wheel chrono movement either - yes I know it’s Chinese but it still does it’s job faithfully and is quite wonderful to look at.

Hello all!

Seems like the OP FAQ is mostly about step 1, "how to decide what watch you like." What I'm interested in learning more about is where to find it [used] once you do, how to spot fakes and unreliable sellers, how to figure out fair values, and that sort of thing. Anyone have any good links or resources (or just comments) to get me started on that? General advice welcome, but in particular I love the classic simplicity of many Girard-Perregaux and plan to start there for my first piece.

A question on AD purchases: has anyone ever used the duty free shops at airports? Rolex and Watches of Switzerland have boutiques at Heathrow, and while I haven’t hassled a sales associate re details on pricing, it appears to be a bit lower than normal US retail. Also, for manners: can you work with a London sales associate and get that person a commission if you pick up at the airport?

I think some of you guys who have desire for it and substantial collection, should do a "State of my Collection" videos, post them on Youtube and link them here. It is very easy to make HD video with a cell phone camera without really showing anything else just the watches and your commentary.
You would keep complete anonymity just like on this forum, but imo, it would make a lively update to this thread.
One can even make a new Goggle account (takes 1 minute) just to post such video to Youtube.
How about it?

P.S. I would have done it myself , but my watches are too crappy for this thread.
