Buoyed by my recent success in buying a vintage, Japanese market IWC, I am now tempted to buy this for my wife. It's an old Pellaton movement, and it's a bit of a miniature with a 20 mm case:

Come to think of it, I don't know any women who own and IWCs. Most of the women who wear nicer watches, that I know or have seen, seem to favor Cartier, Chopard, and Jaeger LeCoultre.

Not a fan of annual calenders, but definitely the Lange. Initial thought was the Patek, but second look and I saw that date window which killed it.

Here is THE answer. Let’s take a look:

    Annual calendar check
No roman and Arabic numerals check
Can wear with strap as a dress watch check
    Bracelet for the weekends bonus
Chrono if you want to time your eggs to perfection for breakfast big bonus

The ugly duckling of Patek, one and only 5960 1/A

You can still pick up in the secondary for high 30s or 40s as new old stock..

She would accept it, but does she really like it? Or, do you mostly project your watch obsession onto her forcing her to wear something she would've never otherwise considered? I am guilty of this myself...

On straps this would look cool and very sporty. Alas I don't think anyone here is adventurous enough. So just get this and be done with it for the next 20 years:

Just tried on the Lange again. No doubts that’s the one for me.

Didn’t take one today but here is one from last time. This is the yellow gold (I am after the white).

Also tried on this. Hugely expensive but I liked it. And to compound the problem, have just found a pre-owned white gold version for a very good price...

I think rosegold would be better given the silver dial than wg. But I understand it'll be easier to match with fabrics.

Yes it's stunning - but the double hands on the upper sub-dials make it much less legible than the Lange and that's a deal breaker for me (I will be wearing this watch daily and really will use it to check the date/month/day).
