Knowing Gov. Walz, it's probably a Casio, Tissot, or something under $1,000. Not exactly a luxury goods kind of guy.
In all the other photos I've seen of him, he seems to be wearing a Casio or maybe a Timex.
As far as watch choices go, that is a top watch for an American politician.
Biden has a decent watch game, and so did Obama. I think Clinton's Timex was an affectation. Trump often wears a Patek Golden Ellipse, doesn't he?

What are your thoughts on that salmon PP5172g? I think that it is different enough from my PP5170g (black dial) to merit consideration.
Love the Salmon dial 5172g. Probably one of my favorite current PP. I especially like the thin profile of the case.

It's not a watch that I liked in photos, as I'm generally not a fan of salmon dials or syringe hands, and I wasn't sure about the lugs. However, in person it really works together very nicely. I think there are so many details that are different enough from your 5170g that you could own it without it feeling duplicative, although both are 2 register chronographs. My favorite modern Patek is still the 5712 in steel or rose gold on matching bracelet, but I did enjoy wearing the 5172g. You should definitely try one on and see if it makes you smile enough to pull the trigger on one. Wishing you lots of luck and fun with your decision!
Very insightful. Thank you.

The problem is that my AD has not had it and when I visit other ADs they have not had it in stock. Thus I’m unsure if all the elements go well together (especially concerned about the shade of salmon). I arrived in Vegas tonight so I may have an opportunity to see it at the joint at the Wynn Hotel.

BTW, the PP representative at Crystal told me that PP just informed a big group of ADs that their contracts will not be renewed. Hoping that’s inaccurate and praying that it doesn’t affect my AD.
