Also I keep hearing that Rolex production is ramping up post-Covid and that demand is sliding due to some people having given up their desire, which may also be true but I’m yet to notice this being reflected in grey market pricing although I admit I’ve only done cursory research into that. The big step-down in grey market pricing and/or the big increase in the ease of buying retail that have been predicted don’t seem to have moved much although I’m happy to be corrected if this is no longer the case!
SS Daytona's have slid quite a bit since peak and many models are trading around MSRP now instead of above MSRP on the GM. Main exceptions to this are the Pepsi, green Sub, and SS Daytonas which still command a large premium.

Well this may be true but my anecdote works as a rough gauge of where Rolex supply and demand are right now …

Prices have definitely come down in the gray market for all models. Sure, some like Daytonas and Pepsis still sell for a good amount above MSRP, but even their prices are nothing like they were 2-3 years ago. Availability has been a little better on I think all Rolex except Daytonas, but it depends on where you are located.

A friend of mine had no luck buying a steel or steel and gold ladies Datejust for roughly the last 8 to 10 months. She was in Japan a few weeks ago, and not a single place had a ladies DJ, Overseas, or RO available to sell to her. She has been in Singapore for a few days. There are something like a dozen Rolex purchase point including ADs and Boutiques. She went to 6 shops and no one had any DJs available for sale. Today at the 7th AD they had one pink dial DJ in all steel. She wasn't sure about it and said let me think about it for an hour. The SA said he would hold it for an hour. She went back 30 minutes later and it was sold. He said, a woman tried it on earlier that morning and came back to buy it. Another SA overheard this, checked the inventory and said they have one blue one in the safe if she wants it. So she bought it.
