Yes. What's more ridiculous is that London's finest seem to be completely inept at countering these lowlifes.

Don't think the tactical teams are called for petty crimes

I'm not sure how to solve the problem but I'd guess it involves storefronts like the one robbed pay for real security. I'm sure he operated fine as a one-man operation for many years but clearly times have changed. The dudes were stupid enough to be captured clear as day on video. Lets just hope they get caught.

It happened in Boston last year. Bunch of [armed I think] guys smash and grabbed the AP store. Three of four were caught on the street a block from the incident. No updates since their arrest.

Looking for some advice from you folks -

Last year my AD came through out of the blue and offered an Explorer II polar with essentially no purchase history. Didn't have long to make the decision and bought it. I've had it for over a year now but now I am considering moving it on for a 5 digit GMT. I love the polar, but I have rather small wrists (6.5 inches) and it just doesn't really get worn over my speedy, which is much more comfortable. I also have a SMP 300 that likewise hasn't been getting much wear the past year. If I wear the Explorer II or SMP out for a day, by the time I get home, I want nothing to do with it due to the size. But I want to keep a GMT function. So, I have just recently been thinking of trading/selling the Explorer II and SMP and getting a 5 digit GMT to replace one or both. Love to get the collective wisdom.

Also, I was able to see the new white speedy in person. It is really lovely, and it is next on my list to acquire, which is also part of the consideration of maybe moving on the polar II. Not sure I need two white dial sports watches.

Lengthy prison sentences for theft instead of pretending it’s a victimless crime perpetrated by a down on his luck Jean Valjean. You don’t just wake up one day and rob a watch store as a one-off. These crimes are committed by repeat offenders. Locking them up for a long period of time does, in fact, prevent crime.

Sounds like you’ve made up your mind. Unless you are a collector, a watch that isn’t comfortable to wear isn’t worth keeping no matter how much you like it (hello, Lange Cabaret.)

That being said, is the GMT that much more comfortable than an Explorer II?

Perhaps look for patterns that seem to continuously arise that allow for such activity to go unchecked. Fix the underlying problem rather than just blame the victim. Saying "well they should just buy more security" is forcing them to pay what is essentially a protection tax just to conduct their business that was fine for decades before now. The answer is very simple, some people just don't like the reality of it.

Good question - hence seeking some advice. Its a few millimeters of difference in case size and in thickness, although I haven't had the chance to try on a vintage GMT myself.

I like how you mentioned factory alligator leather straps "wear out" on your wrist within 6 months and yet you keep going back to alligator leather straps...

Im putting this on a deployant. I think it is the pin buckle. Dunno we will find out lol
