OK which one of you picked up this understated little piece?
I did look at a few things from his Atlanta art collection, as I know the woman who curated it for many years. Much of the good stuff was sold privately in advance though and I'm not really in the market for a Mapplethorpe.

I mentioned this before, but I am so darned excited about the Mirage. Should be getting it by the end of the year and I am extremely pleased with the details so far:

One of the more unorthodox aspects of the watch is the use of plexi for the crystal. I have no doubt that part of the reason for the decision is that a domed sapphire crystal on an asymmetric watch would be prohibitively expensive. But, particularly with wearing the Speedy lately, I forgot how nice and warm plexi is. Sure, it picks up some micro scratches, but that is polished away easily. I do not think plexi is the right fit for many/most watches. However, I do think it will be a nice fit here, especially with the distortion that is created at certain angles.

Also, I am pleasantly surprised at the level of finishing. Some of the components pictured are not finished (wheel at middle-top right) - however, what is finished looks very good. The gold componentry has a lovely luster to it.

Store where I bought my JLC Master Control. They recently added a separate Rolex room.

I was told to avoid Washington after covid. Been there several times pre-covid and never felt any danger in downtown.
