This a watch for some type of real human - like a fireman, or a pilot, or a sexy private investigator. Look, I'm a fancy LMC artist: I need pcls!Oyster should never exist with PCL!
WTF, FFS ?
DIY brush ?
Sounds like a great pitch for a sweet consulting gig with AP. I'd hire you!sure I understand that. Most brands are trying to sell more every year. But why I addressed this AP situation is because they have so many options who they want to engage with and which influencers to use and do marketing with them. But still for that specific event, they appointed almost random fashion influencer with 1.6m followers from whom probably over half are fake, her engagement is very low and she can not form a normal sentence in english, to take over their IG account for a day. And what she was able to tell about the watch was: "It's sooo nice". And they pay for that ****. Where you have a lot better options - women that are better positioned in the fashion and luxury lifestyle industry that could actually be a solid fit for the brand. At least if we look from values perspective etc. At least some things would be aligned to justify the pick. But still they went with a fake influencer from Serbia. And there is no ******* way they have any normal reason why they go with these people and I would still really want to hear their explanation.
you are welcome to troll at this point but I would really want to see the brainstorming behind some marketing decisions these big companies take. I can live with endorsing celebrities, many of them have a good following and solid fanbase, but when picking random influencers I would really want to know how they pick the few they decide to go with because too many times brands pick completely wrong people. And that is the process that goes through a few people or even teams that are paid for that and they still make horrible decisions.Sounds like a great pitch for a sweet consulting gig with AP. I would guess it's some big time executive's daughter or something following that influencer convincing mom/dad that this person would be a great brand ambassador. Parent looks at it and thinks "cheaper than getting a real celebrity and still has over 1M followers" and runs with it.you are welcome to troll at this point but I would really want to see the brainstorming behind some marketing decisions these big companies take. Was listening to the new Davide Cerrato podcast on Hodinkee Radio - was really surprised to hear that Bremont is moving downmarket, into the $2,600 or so price range (ie, Tudor). What an interesting move. I always thought that $5,000 - $7,000 was an odd price range for Bremont to be in.
I don’t know who this person is, but I can say the same about pretty much all the “influencers” out there, they are all random to me. Could be a friend of a friend as Texas noted, could be big in some small market where AP thinks they can move watches, could be the mistress of AP’s marketing person, who knows. But they have her pushing a watch that comes in at the higher end of their pricing so I’m guessing some consideration was given as to who she is.you are welcome to troll at this point but I would really want to see the brainstorming behind some marketing decisions these big companies take. Looks great, and I do wish they would go back to brushed center links. However, some one else out there looks at this watch and says a Rolex Professional watch should never have white gold surrounding the lum plots. If Rolex can sell all the current GMTs they have little reason to listen to us and change back to brushed links.Oyster should never exist with PCL!
This is surprisingly accurate. My neighbor does damage control PR for major corporations, including after an influencer decision backfires on the company. The few stories I've heard on this always start with some corporate PR person having no clue who the influencer is but being told he/she is really popular with the target audience and essentially saying, "sounds great, let's do it."I would guess it's some big time executive's daughter or something following that influencer convincing mom/dad that this person would be a great brand ambassador. It's a big change, but I always thought their watches were over stylized, and over priced. I've never owned one however, a friend of mine was very into the brand a while ago and purchased several pieces. When he decided to shift his collection in a different direction and sell them, even with discounting them from what seemed like a fair price on the secondary market he struggled to find buyers. Other than my friend who bought them, I was never sure who their target audience was.Was listening to the new Davide Cerrato podcast on Hodinkee Radio - was really surprised to hear that Bremont is moving downmarket, into the $2,600 or so price range (ie, Tudor). Well, they claim they can't produce enough to meet the demand - so how could they sell more?Agreed, no need to change, but it's possible that they would sell even more with brushed links, who knows. By the way, I would always prefer a Jubilee.
Maybe it was a little misunderstanding here. Yes, I said I have never heard of that brand before, but I was even more concerned about the influencer pick who took over of AP instagram of the whole day of that fashion event. @Tamara on IG. She can't put together one structured sentence in English.Ok, now you had me look up who she is (hope you’re happy )
She’s basicallly a fashion designer that deals in couture and celebrities. So she could probably move 100 watches amongst her clientele without breaking a sweat and her clients would buy them to go along with whatever “look” she is making for them, without giving two ***** about the quality of the movement or finishing 🤷♂️ so the perfect clients for 6 figure watches.
