Must say that first, I have only watched the video.
If I had known I would have avoided the running gag.

Something I don’t understand is that London was supposed to be safe since they put cameras everywhere ?

I went there very recently and no problems at all, but it’s true that as I was with my kids I didn’t get out much the evenings.
It is sad reality EU is facing. London, Stockholm, Paris, Milano... I am not saying that it is dangerous on every single street all the time. But you should be more careful in these cities and even more when it is dark out.

I know for Paris as I live there. There are less cameras than in London. Definitely some areas I will avoid at night, but problems might happen everywhere though. For example I will never take the metro with my Piaget now, while it wasn’t a problem only a few years ago.

Last month, in a very nice part of London, I had my phone stolen out of my hands by a guy on an electrical bike who grabbed it. I managed to break my arm in an attempt to knock him off his bike while chasing him. Turns out Edward Green boots aren’t the best footwear for running after thieves.

It’s a very similar situation for watches, just a bit more close and personal of course.

Just make sure it’s all insured, try to protect it if you can. Bullies aren’t used to people fighting back. Still, gotta be careful because fist fights can become knife fights very quickly with these lowlifes.

broke all the rules of good taste and wore this Seamaster with black tie. Also wore the Speedy with black tie (which actually kinda rules with black tie because of its stark black and white color scheme) though don't have any pics of it.

That sucks!

I know the safe move is to give up the watch or phone but my confidence level is high as I won my last street fight. It was a cool fall morning, 1980-something. Words were exchanged with a kid on the playground. He was bigger but a year behind me so naturally I had the upper hand. When swung upon, I ducked and he struck me square on the top of my head breaking his hand. He howled and ran to the closest teacher while I emerged victorious!
