Anyone have an online appraiser? Want to update my homeowners insurance but they want an appraisal for the watches. I have appraisals for the jewelry already but nothing for my watches. Thanks!

It is hard to go back to leather straps after wearing mostly SS bracelets…

Waterproof, comfy, does well in heat, doesn’t disintegrate VS leather…

AD called. Asked me to stop by with some good bourbon to pick up “[my] late Christmas present.” Unfortunately, I am out of town with @Omega Male handling some loose ends in Medellin.

Will be home in a few days and will update the gang then.
Handling loose ends yourself? Either it's personal this time, or you're not UMC.

Are the somewhat recent purchases? If so, call the place you bought them and ask for an appraisal for their current value. I've done that in the past. I think Hodinkee uses Chubb for its policies and they don't require appraisals at least last time I checked. In the past I've just gone to reputable brick and mortar watch/jewelry store when the original place it out of business or no longer carries a brand. I did a quick online search and there are a few online appraisal services. However, I don't know anyone who has used them and I'm not sure I'd want my information and what I own to be with some random company.

I used to be team SS bracelet but now I prefer leather straps more. Only time I really switch over to SS bracelet is during the summer.

What a nice find under the tree this year!

I sense it’s unlikely to the taste of this group, but I maintain that Unimatic watches are uniquely beautiful and extremely well-priced. This one is the latest Hodinkee collaboration and the first Unimatic in a carbon fiber case.

Nice gift. I go back and forth on Unimatics. Can't really make up my mind. I wish they had a GMT I liked.

Surprised people still program the Franck D minor, I’d have thought any kind of Franck appreciation from the general public went out the window decades ago.
Oh, quite aware of the symphonic imperfection of D minor.
However, had not heard it in 15 years.

And might I advise, music is music, exploration of such is part of the human spirit.
I actually know those who subscribe to RAP…still music.

Perhaps park your shallow adventure and allow everyone their experience.

What do you go back and forth on?
Whether or not I find them attractive.

I've also become interested in the Serica 8315 GMT as a (relatively) inexpensive travel watch. That also has a fairly sterile and clean presentation, although not to the extent of a Unimatic.

Serica are interesting and great value, and they are friendly young guys passionate about watches. I didn’t had the « coup de cœur » on their models though, but each to his own. I think @Lupin 3 ordered the new automatic version of their field watch.
