Good thinking. Another option is a Seiko alpinist is the $500-750 range. Love mine because I can travel in it and enjoy it without ever getting nervous of beating it up.Hamilton khaki is my answer. I wouldn’t spend four figures on a watch that is likely to be dropped in a beer pong cup, left in a girl’s dorm or otherwise and similarly abused.
