I can’t get down with the double-stick configurations on 36 OPs. There’s something not quite right about the case shape too - not a fan. I much prefer the 36 DJ at the slightly fancier end of the spectrum, or the Explorer I at the more casual end.

I don’t have strong feelings about the red/black date variety, other than it always struck me as slightly extreme, like a bit too Jekyll/Hyde?

Even here on Bond Street in Mayfair all the Rolexes are marked “For Exhibition Only.” Windows are packed with most of the current models I think.

So the JLC boutique didn’t have a black alligator band for the Master Control either. They directed me to Jean Rousseau in the nearby arcade. They had a nice black alligator strap that did the trick. Like getting a new watch.
