Last time I was in a JLC boutique, I didn't ask for a discount, but what they offered on a JLC Tribute watch was an additional alligator strap. That seems to be a common offer from Richemont boutiques.

Congrats! That's stunning! enjoy it!
That's handy as I want to wear it on a black alligator strap rather than the brown one it comes with.

i'd find a way to telegraph earnest interest and let them make the offer . at the end of the day the last 10 or 15% is probably not all that important to the sales associate . but the sale is .

if i had to i could casually (and honestly) say 'you know what for X,500 this would be a total no brainer ' it's not a solicitation it's an observation and then let them solicit you . good luck !

Always a pleasure to add a serious and understated timepiece to the collection. So they tell me. I wouldn’t know.

Wow, what a beauty! I love gold Rolex sport models. Is that the watch you didn’t even ask for but your dealer surprised you with it?

Hard to follow all the posts, but I thought that Foo wanted one for his big four-O, but went with a DD instead.

So I found the new Hesalite Speedy Moonwatch available (with a discount) at an AD about half an hour from me in NH (home of no sales tax). I couldn't make it up there over the weekend so I took the drive today. I waited about 5 minutes while the SA was finishing up with a customer. Guess what the guy was buying? He beat me by 20 minutes. Fortunately the SA said they can get them in pretty easily so it shouldn't be much of a wait.

They had a sapphire version that was already sold that I could look at. I was originally set on the Hesalite but the Sapphire version has me second guessing that choice.

An advice - next time call them and ask to hold a watch that you want to check out. I did that even if my AD was like 20 minutes walking distance from me

Seems like a weird line to draw. I bought my sub at the other Tysons mall and didn’t even think twice. You should probably but wherever you get the best discount

Which Tyson's store did you like the most?

Congrats, man! That’s a great piece. Also a solid investment.

Thank you! Well, there is that aspect. I try not to let the investment part guide me, though

Thank you, my friend! I intend to, it wears beautifully, as I would expect a Daytona to. My first gold Daytona, feels just right.

Yes, it is! I thought I ordered the "Paul Newman" dial (black with champagne subdials), but our dialogue was long and convoluted, not sure who misread who. But anyway my dealer was super pleased with offering me the green dial, and I just couldn't resist. If I ever regret it, I'm sure it can be fixed.

It is a ridiculous piece, really. I love it. Hard to capture the dial properly. Bright jade in sunlight, that thing is nowhere near discreet. It an evening setting, though, that green turns almost racing green. Still not discreet, it's a gold Daytona.

One thing I know for sure, I am glad I did not choose an oysterflex model. This thing is so much better on a bracelet.

I think the sales team at Lenkersdorfer (at the regular mall) is nicer than the people at the galleria AD. I used to like the galleria because they carried ALS but they don’t anymore. They do have Tudor, which I don’t think Lenkersdorfer carries (but I may be wrong).

galleria also has boutiques for Montblanc, Omega and Cartier though.

I had my Sub appraised at Lenkersdorfer a while back and they were very nice folks.

I see where Monochrome has put out their annual Rolex mock-ups, which is always a real hoot for me (these are pure speculation obviously)…
