Belligero would be very disappointed in the K-cup of Pike Place that I just polished off.

But hey, it gets me through the afternoon.

Those commemorative nautili are atrocious. What also bothers me... 40 years is not really an anniversary. At least wait until 50 years! Or are we going to have more commemorative nautili at 50 years? Then 60 years? Where do we stop?

I also think, generally speaking, that these iterations are atrocious. The diamond markers, the excessive branding (we need a "40," a "1976," & a "2016"?), etc. Patek has some truly beautiful watches. But eek, these are horrendous. The box is cool, but when the box is the best part, there might be a problem.

On the other hand, @Newcomer - wait till you turn forty years old and then tell us if that year / four decades isn't kind of worth celebrating as a milestone..... :)

My kop should be here by the end of October. I will, naturally, share pics with you all. Nothing too big or momentous, but another little one watch contender to go along with my Sub.

You know of any plans to make a Nautilus in Stainless steel same size as the AP 15400? Asking as when I tried the Nautilus it was just so underwhelmingly small on my wrist whereas the 15400 is perfect.

For years I went back and forth on getting either a Breitling 809 or 806. I dove into the details over bezels and period correct dials. I chatted with the two shops that can actually service vintage Navitimers. I could never get over the hump of the ever ballooning prices. So I picked this up...Ollech and Wajs Aviation 24 hour. It's just as gratifying and I can still afford my poke bowl for lunch.

Ugh. You've awakened a dormant longing in me. And it's not for your poke bowl.*

Navitimer. Class. I'm wondering: is a current Sinm 903 a legit option? @Belligero is a Sinn fan and independents advocate...maybe he knows.

*(wtf is a "poke bowl" anyway?)

Haha, well played my friend! Personally, I will celebrate every year of my life as a milestone... if it meant I got some sort of commemorative watch.

Nice.

Being the self-appointed "strap police", I think both of those chronographs would look great on black calf, with white stitching :tounge:

(So there's my two cents that you didn't ask for).

And since I also strive to be helpful, here's a link to one version from Hirsch, which runs about $75 US:

DISCLAIMER: I've never actually tried this strap, and would hope everyone understands that I'm affiliated in any way whatsoever....it just looks like a decent value option to me.
