agreed re pervasive thickness.

what say ye about the fois, though? is it just gone, or will it be updated (hesalite with 321?)?

will the new moon watch be sapphire only? new bracelet?

are price hikes going to be subtle, or bonkers?
FOIS- no announcement. On Rolexforum and Omegaforum, people have confirmed that the Omega boutiques told them FOIS is no longer in production.

There has been no details mentioned on the new moon watch. Everything is currently speculated other than the CEO confirming a new moon watch is coming in 2021. Current speculation is new movement (almost a virtual certainty), ceramic bezel, and new bracelet.

Does anyone have the inside scoop on what's going down with Omega's plans to update the Speedmaster line? I've heard the FOIS has just been discontinued and that the 1861 moonwatch will be upgraded to the 3861 soon? Thoughts...?

They are probably thinking about dipping their toe in the special edition market...

the only think more ubiquitous than Omega LEs are the "jokes" about Omega LEs :)

Please note I said special edition, not limited edition. This is the next phase as they'll start doing "special editions" of their limited editions. Totally different thing...

Does this damning review of the Explorer hold any merit?

https://www.timezone.com/2002/09/16/the-rolex-explorer-ref-14270-part-2/
No. It’s not a “damning review of the Explorer.” It’s an in-depth criticism of Rolex’s quality control, particularly when it comes to the movement assembly and finishing. It just happened to be inside an Explorer.

For the record, Rolex’s quality control is absolute ****. When I bought my Pepsi, I arrived at my AD and asked them to set the time for me. The girl, lovely as she was, agreed. She pulled out the crown and * POP *. There went my Pepsi. Took about a month to get a new one and the AD sent the busted one back to Rolex. They fixed it and he sold it to some other unsuspecting shmuck.

Serious question. Used watches, does it matter? or is it about proudly buying a watch at retail or above retail to flex?

Browsing Crown&caliber for good deals on watches.
The discount watches mean i could get a Panerai, etc used, for top Casio money.
What matters, the watch? or the flex?

- I want to say the watch. but does it mean more if you paid retail?

if by “flex” you mean bragging rights, I suppose that comes down to the individual. I think it depends on the watch. There’s nothing wrong with used or vintage, particularly if the watch is no longer being made.

How much you paid for it really should only matter to you, the buyer. That one would be happy to pay more just to be able to brag about seems somewhat dysfunctional.

Thanks for the response.
After seeing what the lower priced used items were, it seems easy to get a 4k watch instead of a 2.5k.
so i see that as a level up.
