^ The year mentioned for the release of the RO is off by about 63.072.000 seconds.

Please don't quote spam - instead, just report it to a moderator using the "report" button on the bottom left-hand-side of the post.
This. Quoting them just gives them the backlinks that they want, and then the mods or I or the admin have to clean it up. The bad guys will win!

Cheers,

Somewhat recently acquired a Rolex Milgauss with the Z-Blue dial as my first Rolex. However, I've realized that it's a bit too dressy for me due to the smooth bezel/brushed links on the oyster bracelet so I'm looking to get rid of it. Anyone have any recommendations/good experiences on the best platforms to sell? Thanks!

But I mean, gold day-date, that's a pretty classic watch, amirite?

(I wonder if it has the wood dial and "bark" bracelet.)
Funny that one. I haven't seen one in a while. Plenty of batmans, pepsis, etc. Has the President lost its charm? What is the situation in your neck of the woods? What is the President that is appropriate for 2019 - anyone yield to the siren call of the green dial? Any (gasp) leather straps?

I note that resale on Chrono24 is a third of current MSRP.

That doesn’t look like a Milgauss at all!!

I am a big DD fan. The watch has been in production for a half century or more, so for sure there is a wide selection on the secondary market. Personally I like the 5-digit ones the most. Indeed, you can pick one up in good condition for around a third of the current retail price. But if you want the more recent 6-digit reference, they are going for around 2/3 of MSRP for good used pieces.

You don’t see that many people wearing them in the wild, though. A beautiful watch, but it can be quite flashy.

While the DD is a little flashy (and I see quite a few in my woods), the Yacht Master seems to be the new go-to for a flashy Rolex, a proliferation of them here. I suspect the majority of the DDs I see have a few years of love behind them.

Are you referring to the gold YM with rubber strap?

I guess as with nice cars, you never know if the person wearing a gold watch bought it new or used! All my gold watches were also acquired second hand. ☺

No, not the rubber. The newish 42mm. They appear to be everywhere. Seems to be the new ‘gold’ standard here.

Doesn't matter what platform you try to sell it on if you represent an Omega Seamaster as a Rolex.

My wife wears a vintage (1964) 1803 on a leather strap. It's a classic watch and she wears it well. I think the Day-Date is a substantial bargain. I don't care for the green dial, but I'd happily wear a champagne dial or another lighter dialed version.
