The problem is, there is nobody in Hollywood who could live up to the role of Judge Holden. I feel the same way about Pete Bondurant from American Tabloid, another one of my favorite novels.

blood meridian is probably the hardest book i've ever tried to read. ive gone through it about.. 5 times? and each time i feel that, although im closer to grasping it, im still not there. really great.

If you can, pick up Sepich's Notes on Blood Meridian. I got it after my third time through Meridian and it was still increased my enoyment. He shies away from interpretive anaylsis, but gives a huge amount of information on the book. It astonished me how many of the incidents in the book are based on real life. It really helps you spot all the throwaway history tidbits in the book.

This is exciting. How often is the asian guy in the t.v. show 1) cool 2) gets laid?

Also has anyone noticed they dressed him up as Ash Ketchum?

The disjointed paragraphs, the horrible punctuation, the broken sentences, the lack of actual depth of story, the complete and utter frustration of wanting to throw the book into a large, roaring fire, any of the above. I cannot state how much I hated that book. It was worse than Franzen's Corrections, and THAT is saying something.

I think the only guy with the physiognomy to pull it off would be Michael Clarke Duncan. I don't know if he could deliver the lines well though.

Yes, mention is made of his sunburn and pale flesh. But would as far as the dialogue goes, not much of it would soon odd coming from a black person. It would save us from having Russell Crowe trying to play him.

Michael Clarke Duncan would be a really strange choice for Holden. I was kind of thinking Ron Perlman at one point but he's kind of getting up there in age.
