Crap... i meant when sleeves are shortened like here by people,
can I return them to original size and even lengthen further ?
i have no idea what tailors do when they shorten jackets, do they hide the excess material under the sleeve or they need to cut off material?

Material is not usually removed when shortening sleeves. All of the original length will be folded under.

I have an unaltered 38 slim in the slub burgundy silk/wool blend which is a really nice light weight. I love the fabric and the look I just need a 38 contemporary. Willing to trade for one or just sell straight up.

That is why I used the word "usually" because I cannot know the outcome of every sleeve shortening. But I have never come across this personally. I suppose if the sleeves are shortened by a large amount, the tailor might have to cut off some material, but that would not be typical in my experience.

I wear 38 contemporary. Never tried the slim. How did it wear for you? Where was it not a good fit?

I have the balmacaan in 38 contemporary and it fits perfectly and I recently switched from buying the slim shirts (which I still wear) to the contemporary. The medium cardigans fit me well. The coat looks fine when open but it's a little tight on the upper back (below the shou and just pulls too much at the button point.

Time to move on from my slims so these shirts need a good home. Very good/excellent condition on all. Shirts have always been cold washed and hung dry. As you can probably tell I have way too many shirts to rotate through.

Note that some are just 15's while others are 15/33 or 15/34. I've included SKU's for reference.

“All of the original length WILL BE folded” - your sentence assumed that evth will be folded.

The two times I bought SM stuff with this assumption, I was left disappointed because tailors tend to make a cut along the outer edge when rolling the cloth under where the buttons are. I am not aware of the lingo but bottomline is, they couldn’t be lengthened.

1. Tropical wool navy suit. 38 contemporary tropical wool navy blue suit – Jacket had sleeves shortened about ¼ inch on each side, otherwise unaltered. Pants are NWT 32 contemporary. - $150+S&H

2. Navy/olive check SUIT. Jacket is 38R contemporary. Pants are custom but are similar to a 32 contemporary with the following changes noted. I bought the olive/navy check jacket from a few years ago and had pants made to complete a suit. See photos. Jacket only alteration was sleeves shortened 1/8-1/4 inch. Pants with waist of 31 inches and inseam of 30 inches with 1-1.25 inches to let out further. $199 shipped

3. Neapolitan Minnis seersucker suit - 38R contemporary. Jacket is 38R contemporary and worn once. Fantastic condition. Sleeves shortened roughly 1/4 inch or so. Pants NWT and size 34 contemporary. I believe this is the neo cut. Pants are with side adjusters and single pleat. Looking for $295 +S&H. Honestly this is a steal for a GREAT suit! Just realized I am a 40 slim fit guy due to weight gain.
