I mean would you be excited if Drake's was priced like J Crew? Drake's has always been expensive for me, but I've enjoyed picking particular items that felt worth the splurge and also it's fun to troll the second-hand waters. If Drake's were any cheaper I'd be in danger of going full Drake's with my outfits which can be a bit much and homogeneous for menswear these days anyways.Yes, I am done with Drake’s now. Have bought a few times, but eff that noise.
Reap what you sow, I guess.rename this to the Drakes haterz thread
My beef is not with the pricing. I’ve bought a few times at full price off the main website and their oxford shirts are my favourite. It’s just the principle of restricting their sale to UK and US customers. Don’t want to make too much of it.I mean would you be excited if Drake's was priced like J Crew? What's the thinking behind this? I mean, I wasn't going to buy anything, but I thought it was strange to restrict it to just US and UK customers. My beef is not with the pricing. Yes, they added items and lowered prices in past sales.I was able to pick up a corduroy shirt and a baseball cap. If anyone's curious about their caps, I have a Drake's/ALD one that I really like. The fit is really on-point (like most their items). I thought the pricing was appropriate, but man was that was a limited selection and did stuff sell out quickly! I logged on right when I got up at 7:00 eastern on Thursday and the gray flannel shirt and university stripe OCBD I wanted were already sold out in my size. Not super interested in the non-standard OCBD colors (yet!), which seemed to be available.
As others have said, I guess the brand is doing well enough that they don't have a lot to offload during sales and can still increase their standard prices. Good for them, but that means I'll still stick to Ebay and Grailed for most my Drake's purchases. Which is kinda a bummer, but I understand they don't owe me anything.
Not sure if this'll hold given the already limited selection, but does anyone recall if past sales have lowered prices and/or added new items over time?
