Yes the herringbone is much nicer, still not totally sold on the green hue they chose for it. I prefer a darker more khaki green like the one they had before... How did you size on that jacket? Is the size chart accurate?

I'll say the color this year I like but the material I am less sold on; it does seem less substantial than the herringbone version last year. Hard to say without seeing them in person, however.

I am a little funny in terms of sizing. I am 5'8", 170, reasonably athletic but not trim. I wear 40 in the heavy twill chore coat. I took 38 in the JJ because it was even larger, and I am glad I did. I never layer multiple garments under it because I live in California. That said, I could probably also wear a 40 but the sleeves would be enormously long. I already fold back the sleeves on the 38. I do think the size charts are accurate, or at least it was for that one.

Love the jungle jackets. I've picked up a few over the years and definitely wear them more than any of the chores, especially in warmer weather. For my money last year's green herringbone was the nicest version to date — a little more olive/sage than the previous year's more vibrant version (which I have). The slight difference in color wasn't enough to justify buying yet another one (even for me), but if I were starting over, that's the one I'd get.

I also love the very earliest ripstop versions, especially the original olive green and the French blue that came out the following year (2018? 2019?). Mine in French blue is very well-worn now and just gets better and better as time goes on.

I have it and really love it. One of my favorite recent Drake's pieces. Sometimes vests don't sit quite right on my shoulders but this one does. The fabric and color are perfect and the balance is great. Love the double zip, although it's also nice to just use the button closure. Terrific hardware choices as you'd expect. I have a few other vests (including the olive quilted nylon model), but this one is by far my favorite.
Thank you!
I’ll definitely have to add this vest to my wardrobe!
Terrific hardware choices— I thought the same! YKK snap buttons, and the zipper I’m not sure about, but it’s probably riri?

Lookbook looks great but what's the point of having pockets back there(serious question but not)?

I like it as I like the jungle jacket but just not sure when I’d wear something like this. Sometimes I think there could be a danger that you look like you’ve walked off a drake’s photoset, so I like to mix drake’s with other stuff. They do tend to nail the details though

How can it take 10 business days (i.e. 2wks) to dispatch an order, when any other business can do it in <48hrs? I know i just need to be patient...but it's a bit crap.
Indeed. And most other places would offer free shipping (UK at least) if you spend over something like £200.

Their standard web store states within 2 days.

I guess their archive sale warehouse is somewhere else operated by another team. One person team in a basement in East London more like!

My Barbour classic beaufort got a big pocket with zippers in the back that I've never used. Supposedly it was used to carry game (yuck).

I suppose it's a design element that belongs to the hunting jackets or workwear this garment takes inspiration from.

As for the lookbook, I wish I could justify to myself spending 500 € for a linen rugby that can be worn 2 months a year.

Mannnn I don't know what it is. The model? Colors? layering? but this look book really speaks out to me. Loving all the fits. Wish they would provide some more details on the footwear. Drakes has been really stepping out of their usual crosby/chukka, charles loafer comfort zone. Loving the incorporation of boots, sneakers, and mocs.

In many of the images, the loafers are the Drake’s Charles MK II. Brown suede and black calf.

It’s the best look book I’ve seen in a long time from any brand. And it’s all of the above: colors, layering, the model. It’s just perfect. Bloody damn Drake’s, that’s why we keep coming back even though we complain a lot.
